چکیده
We explore the motion of an axisymmetric gravity current in anisotropic porous medium which horizontal permeability is larger than vertical permeability. It well known that classical supplied by a constant point source fluid has unphysical singularity near origin. address this considering pressure-dominated region origin allows for flow from source, such remains finite depth, whilst beyond dominated. At early times inner pressure-driven controls spreading current, but at late occupies progressively smaller fraction radius increases as ${\sim }t^{3/7}$ , while depth approximately }t^{1/7}$ . The presence anisotropy highlights phenomenon, since maintains effect on through Using these results we provide some quantitative insights into dominant dynamics CO $_2$ migration permeable aquifers, occurs context carbon capture and storage.

متن کاملThe averaging of gravity currents in porous media
We explore the problem of a moving free surface in a water-saturated porous medium that has either a homogeneous or a periodically heterogeneous permeability field. We identify scaling relations and derive similarity solutions for the homogeneous, constant coefficient case in both a Cartesian and an axisymmetric, radial coordinate system. We utilize these similarity scalings to identify half-he...
متن کاملNumerical Modelling of Two-dimensional and Axisymmetric Gravity Currents
A series of two-dimensional, axisymmetric and three-dimensional numerical flow simulations using an Implicit Large Eddy Simulation (ILES) are carried out for gravity-driven fluid flows, the results are compared directly with experiments undertaken to test the model. Two-dimensional results show that the Large Eddy algorithm is successful in modelling a gravity current’s large scale structure. E...
متن کاملInvestigation of Natural Convection in a Vertical Cavity Filled with a Anisotropic Porous Media
In present paper, a numerical analysis for a rectangular cavity filled with a anisotropic porous media has been studied. It is assumed that the horizontal walls are adiabatic and impermeable, while the side walls of the cavity are maintained at constant temperatures and concentrations. The buoyancy force that induced the fluid motion are assumed to be cooperative. In the two extreme cases o...

The various industrial, biological and engineering applications of flow of squeezing flow of fluid between parallel plates have been the impetus for the continued interest and generation renewed interests on the subject. As a part of the renewed interests, this paper presents the study of axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic squeezing flow of nanofluid in porous media under the influence of slip bo...
